Kentin Kelamı : City's Remark
IMSG (Istanbul Modern Sanatlar Galerisi : Istanbul Modern Art Gallery), Istanbul 2005 |
The series of three posters called CITY’S REMARK was designed for an exhibition about Istanbul and its current issues. The idea came from the question of what would Istanbul say about itself, what would it ask for. In order to answer that question, I prefered not to look at architects or city planners but the rest of the inhabitants of the city: The series was inspired from the old Turkish proverbs not necesseraly related to the city but can be interpreted in relation to the current politics and issues of Istanbul like less green areas or the commercialisation of a public train station called Haydarpasa. It is a call for taking action.
This poster is a typographic landscape created with letters, paper and light. |
